Now this looks like my type of commute. Hop on a roller coaster and enjoy that ride to work!

Also, here is the behind the scenes making of the commercial. Pretty cool to watch how they got a roller coaster in NYC.

This is a great view, straight down, from the top of the Power Tower.

Now having the ability to have a camera out, snap a shot, and not loose the camera is talent.

Valleyfair is currntly running ValleyScare where they turn the park in to a giant haunted house basically. During the day it’s fun and kid frienly, at night, it’s for adults and aimed to scare you to death.

What I don’t get is why? Why do themeparks love to do this? Parks all around the country do the same thing. And it happens year after year.

Do people just love being scared that much? I guess. Personally I’m staying home, but am intrigued at how scary it really is and why others like it.

Have you been to a haunted theme park? What did you think?

I think it’s hard to compare ValleyFair and Nickelodeon Universe as they are two completely different parks with different visitors. But lets give it a go.

  • ValleyFair tailors more to big kids, Nickelodeon Universe to little kids.
  • ValleyFair is outdoors, Nickelodeon Universe is indoors.
  • ValleyFair is pricy but all rides are included, Nickelodeon Universe is pay per ride for the most part.
  • ValleyFair has a water park, Nickelodeon Universe has a water ride.
  • ValleyFair is open in the summer, Nickelodeon Universe is open all year around.
  • ValleyFair usually has longer lines, Nickelodeon Universe doesn’t have the crowds.
  • ValleyFair has some gift shops, Nickelodeon Universe has an entire mall.
  • ValleyFair has Wild Thing, Nickelodeon Universe has Sponge Bob.
  • ValleyFair has paid parking, Nickelodeon Universe has free parking.
  • ValleyFair has bugs, Nickelodeon Universe is bug free.
  • ValleyFair gets you a tan, or sun burn, Nickelodeon Universe keeps the sun away.
  • ValleyFair has mini golf for an additional price, Nickelodeon Universe does too.
  • ValleyFair has all day fun, Nickelodeon Universe you can probably do in an hour or two.

What other comparisons do you have?

Rumors are starting to swirl about a new coaster in 2010 for Valleyfair. The rumors are just that for now as there is no concrete evidence or plans in place. A park visitor did mention that he saw what looked like coaster tools and clearing.

…while riding Renegade, after the first drop on the Buckel, I noticed some tools that might be for constructing a rollercoaster. As I looked around the park, I saw a little bit of a clearing by renegade. I noticed this on PowerTower/Wild Thing/Excalibur/Steel Venom. via sscoasters.net

Others agree that there are rumors, but not much traction with them yet. We’ll have to wait and see what 2010 brings for Valleyfair!

What a sweet photo. Not only of the Steel Venom ride, but also the coloring which almost makes it look a bit retro.

Valleyfair.com is showing that the construction on Breakers Bay is wrapping up nicely. It also show where it’s located in the park. It is much closer to Wild Thing that I had previously thought.

If you’ve been by the Mall of America, you can’t miss Lego Land.  It’s a wonderful playground full of Legos and fun.  However, I don’t think it’s been cleaned since the day it was opened.

Sure, down low all is good. But the view from the second or third level shows dust caked on all the Legos.  The colors appear faded due to the dirty conditions and it detracts from the mall landmark.

Lego Land Dirty Birds

Now, I know it’s not easy to climb up and clean them all but you’d think that once every few years they could do something.  Maybe they do.  Maybe they just get dirty that fast!

Either way, Lego Land needs a bit more cleaning and attention paid to it.  It’s a fantastic attraction and it should look as good as possible at all times.
